Three-fourths of those who watched Trump's address to Congress approved of speech: poll

Seventy-six percent of those who watched President Donald Trump address Tuesday night to a joint session of Congress approve of the speech, according to a CBS News poll released Wednesday morning. 

The viewership was mostly Republicans, according to the poll.

Trump in his 100-minute speech in House chambers discussed his agenda, plans for the future and gave shoutouts to special guests.

Sixty-three percent of poll respondents said  Trump spent a lot of time talking about issues about which they cared. 

When it came to the topic of inflation, 68% of Americans said they felt that Trump had a plan to bring it down while 32% said he didn't. 

Most viewers said they felt "hopeful" and "proud" watching the speech.
