Trump campaign to hold fundraiser in Florida with goal of raising $33 million

The presidential campaign for presumptive GOP nominee Donald Trump is set to hold a fundraising event in Florida next with that the hopes of raising $33 million.
The campaign event will be hosted by billionaire hedge fund manager John Paulson on April 6.
A representative from the Trump campaign told The New York Post that the goal of $33 million will be “the largest amount by 100% for an event of its type" in the history of the Republican National Committee.
Wealthy donors such as businessman Robert Bigelow, casino mogul Steve Wynn and New York grocery billionaire John Catsimatidis are expected to attend, according to The Associated Press.
“We are not only raising the necessary funds, but we are deploying strategic assets that will help send President Trump back to the White House and carry Republicans over the finish line,” Trump campaign spokesman Steven Cheung said, according to the wire service.
President Joe Biden on Thursday held a fundraiser in New York City that reportedly raised over $26 million.
