Trump warns Musk there will be 'serious consequences' if he funds Democratic candidates

President Donald Trump warned Saturday that there would be "serious consequences" for Tesla CEO Elon Musk if he funded Democratic candidates to run against Republicans who vote for the "big beautiful bill."

“If he does, he’ll have to pay the consequences for that,” Trump said during an interview with NBC News when asked about Musk potentially funding Democratic candidates.

“He’ll have to pay very serious consequences if he does that,” he added.

He did not specify what the consequences would be.

When asked if Trump had any desire to repair the damaged relationship with Musk after their spat earlier this week, Trump answered, "No."

The feud between Trump and Musk was over spending in the president's "big, beautiful bill."

Trump said he has no plans to speak with Musk. “I’m too busy doing other things,” he said.

Trump accused Musk of being “disrespectful to the office of the President.”

“I think it’s a very bad thing, because he’s very disrespectful. You could not disrespect the office of the President,” he said.
