Bannon calls for arresting Lindsey Graham if he keeps 'stirring it up' in Ukraine
Graham has been a prominent supporter of Ukraine during the Russian invasion and is traditionally regarded as one of the Senate's most hawkish members.
Former White House chief strategist Chief Bannon on Monday suggested that Sen. Lindsey Graham, R-S.C., should face arrest if he did not cease his trips to Ukraine and his advocacy for continued conflict.
“The White House has to condemn this immediately and pull all support and tell Lindsey Graham to come home or we are going to put you under arrest when you come home. You’re stirring it up,” Bannon said on "War Room."
Bannon specifically took issue with Graham's direct talks with the Ukrainian government and accused him of effectively undermining President Donald Trump by promising support through Congress for a continued fight.
Graham has been a prominent supporter of Ukraine during the Russian invasion and is traditionally regarded as one of the Senate's most hawkish members. He has made several trips to Ukraine and recently applauded Kyiv's strike on Russian targets in the Siberian far east.
"The ever-resourceful Ukraine used creative drone warfare tactics to successfully attack Russian bombers and military assets used to kill Ukrainian citizens and destroy their country," Graham posted on X. "Russia indiscriminately kills men, women and children. It’s time for the world to act decisively against Russia’s aggression by holding China and others accountable for buying cheap Russian oil that props up Putin’s war machine."
