Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem on Wednesday confirmed that the DHS had received more than 80,000 applications for Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) positions since the passage of the One Big, Beautiful Bill that greatly expanded the agency's budget.

"Our recruitment efforts to hire over 10,000 new ICE officers have been extremely successful," she said on Fox News. "As of today we've had over 80,000 applicants for those 10,000 positions already."

The news comes in the wake of Border Czar Tom Homan announcing that deportations had cleared 300,000 since President Donald Trump returned to the White House.

That figure, moreover, represents ICE operations prior to the substantial budget expansion from the bill that has funded the doubling of ICE detention space and the recruitment of 10,000 officers.
