Trump could beat the Jetsons with new executive orders designed to make flying cars reality

President Donald Trump signed a series of new executive orders on Friday that could make aspects of "The Jetsons" TV show a reality by paving the way for things like flying cars in the near future.
The three executive orders secure American airspace in order to prioritize American drone innovation and achieve supersonic air travel.
White House tech policy advisor Michael Kratsios told Fox News that the moves are reminiscent of "The Jetsons," which aired in the 1960s but was set a hundred years in the future. The story focuses on the Jetson family, led by father George Jetson, who have futuristic appliances and work three-day workweeks.
"Flying cars are not just for the Jetsons," Kratsios said. "Since the beginning of his first term, President Trump has recognized the incredible potential of drones to boost American productivity, create high-skilled jobs and meet national needs in areas like public safety, infrastructure, inspection, agriculture and more.
"For too long, red tape has hindered homegrown drone innovation, restricting commercial drone use and burdening their development," he added.
The advisor also predicted that advances in supersonic aviation could make it possible for Americans to fly from New York to California in less than four hours.
The orders also look to secure American airspace sovereignty by boosting responses to potential criminal or terror-related threats and increasing penalties for drone misuse in the United States.
