Vice President J.D. Vance on Tuesday excoriated Gov. Gavin Newsom, D-Calif., blaming him for the ongoing riots in Los Angeles and telling him to "look in the mirror."

The vice president made the remarks in response to Newsom demanding that President Donald Trump rescind his order deploying the National Guard to Los Angeles.

Vance specifically pointed to Newsom's support for state benefits to illegal aliens as a primary driver of their arrival in the Golden State.

"Under Newsom's leadership, medicaid was extended to all illegal immigrants in 2024. This means that he elected to take healthcare from impoverished and disabled Californians and give it to illegal aliens," Vance said.

"And now, everything is President Trump's fault? Give me a break.

If you want to know why illegal aliens flocked to your state, stop accusing Donald Trump," he added. "Look in the mirror.

If you want to know why border patrol fear for their lives over enforcing the law, look in the mirror."
