Muslim New Jersey Mayor barred from attending White House Eid al-Fitr event

Prospect Park, New Jersey Mayor Mohamed Khairullah said the White House Secret Service barred him from attending the Eid al-Fitr celebration in the East Wing on Monday. Khairullah told CNN on Tuesday that he was denied clearance a half hour before the Ramadan festivity began, despite receiving an invitation and following security protocol. The agency confirmed it did not approve entry for Khairullah but provided no further details.
