Iranian and Israeli officials have reported multiple casualties from a series of missile strikes over the past 24 hours, with Iran claiming hundreds of people have been injured and over 70 killed, while dozens were injured in Israel and at least one person is dead.

Israel began launching preemptive strikes against Tehran on Thursday night, which continued on Friday with retaliation from Iran. Israel's attacks have largely targeted Iran's nuclear facilities, its military commanders and scientists.

Iran's Ambassador to the United Nations, Amir Saeid Iravani, claimed that 78 people have been "martyred" in Israel's attacks and another 320 have been injured. He also claimed any country that stands with Israel would be viewed as "complicit."

“Supporting Israel today is supporting war crimes, crimes against humanity, and the deliberate undermining of global peace and security,” he told the United Nations' Security Council.

Fox News reported that one person was killed in missile strikes in Israel and at least 50 have been injured. Iran also shot down two Israeli jets on Friday, where they managed to capture the female pilot of one plane alive, according to Iranian media.

The status of the other pilot was not immediately clear.
