Israel and Iran exchange more attacks in second week of war
The Israeli military said on Saturday that it hit an Iranian nuclear research facility and three senior Iranian commanders were killed
Iran and Israel exchanged new attacks early on Saturday following Tehran’s announcement that it doesn’t plan to enter negotiations related to its nuclear program.
The conflict is now in its second week.
Iranian Foreign Minister Abbas Araqchi said on Friday that nuclear negotiations would not take place “until Israeli aggression stops.”
“Americans want to negotiate and have sent messages several times, but we clearly said that as long as this aggression doesn’t stop, there’s no place for talk of dialogue,” he said on state television, according to reports.
Air raid sirens went off across areas of central Israel, including Tel Aviv, after word spread of an incoming series of missiles coming from Iran.
The Israeli military said Iran fired five ballistic missiles and there were no reports of casualties.
Israel launched attacks that were aimed at Iranian missile storage and launch infrastructure, according to Reuters.
The military reportedly said it hit an Iranian nuclear research facility and three senior Iranian commanders were killed in the targeted attacks.
So far, 639 people have been killed from Israeli attacks in Iran, according to the Human Rights Activists News Agency.
There have been 24 civilians killed in Iranian missile attacks in Israel, according to the latest estimates.
