Pro-Palestinian protesters take over main building at top university in Paris
The activists demanded that the university make an official statement “condemning the actions of Israel that infringe upon the rights and well-being of Palestinians.”
Police in France on Friday forced out pro-Palestinian protesters who had occupied the main building at a top Paris university.
Comité Palestine Sciences Po, according to Politico, moved into Sciences Po’s main building Friday, located in the center of Paris, and the university’s administration closed access to the campus’ main facilities.
The activists demanded that the university make an official statement “condemning the actions of Israel that infringe upon the rights and well-being of Palestinians.”
Sciences Po administration offered the protestors the opportunity to stay inside a cafeteria without “any external contact,” but the group refused because, they said, it would make it impossible to “stock up on food or talk to the press.”
Police forces “peacefully evacuated” the protestors around noon Friday.
