Ukrainian energy facilities get targeted by Russian missiles: report

Officials in the capital city of Kyiv said Saturday that Russia launched a barrage of missiles and drones that hit energy facilities in southeast and western Ukraine.

At least two workers were injured as a result of the strikes, according to CBS News.

Ukraine's air defenses were able to intercept the 13 drones and 12 of the 16 missiles launched by Russia, according to the Ukraine air force. 

Regional Gov. Ivan Fedorov said that the two workers injured were in Zaporizhzhia.

These airstrikes in Zaporizhzhia and Lviv came after the Ukrainian military hit three oil refineries in the southern part of Russia.

This is the eighth attack on Ukraine's energy infrastructure in recent months by Russia, and it has taken out about half of the country's capacity to generate power, according to CBS.
