Luigi Mangione, who has been charged with murder in connection with the execution-style killing of a UnitedHealthcare CEO last year, is requesting a laptop to use in jail.

Mangione's attorneys, in court filings made public Monday, said the laptop would be used only for legal purposes, including viewing legal documents and other material regarding their client's case, and not to communicate with anyone, according to the Associated Press.

Mangione was indicted by a New York grand jury last year in connection with the Dec. 4, 2024, killing of UnitedHealthcare CEO Brian Thompson in Manhattan.

He has pleaded not guilty to New York state murder and terror charges.

Mangione also faces murder charges in Pennsylvania, where he was caught. He also faces criminal charges in New York for possession and building of a weapon and killing in the act of terrorism.

If convicted, Mangione will face life in prison without parole, according to the office of Manhattan's district attorney.
