Trump argues Senate parliamentarian 'should not be allowed' to nix parts of GOP megabill
"Great Congressman Greg Steube is 100% correct. An unelected Senate Staffer (Parliamentarian), should not be allowed to hurt the Republicans Bill. Wants many fantastic things out. NO!" Trump wrote Sunday on Truth Social.
President Trump said on Sunday that Senate Parliamentarian Elizabeth MacDonough "should not be allowed" to axe parts of the GOP's "One Big Beautiful Bill Act."
MacDonough has ruled that portions of the bill related to Medicaid and Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) reform do not qualify under the budget reconciliation rules the GOP is using to pass the bill. Both parties have used the reconciliation strategy in the past to avoid the Senate filibuster.

MacDonough has held the Senate parliamentarian position since 2012, when she was appointed by then-Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid, D-Nev.
