DHS: Man charged with murdering mother of 5 an illegal immigrant released by Biden admin in 2021
"He was issued a notice to appear and paroled into the country by the previous administration," a DHS statement says
A 21-year-old illegal immigrant charged with murder last week has been living in the country illegally after being released by the Biden administration from the border in 2021, according to the Department of Homeland Security.
David Hector Rivas-Sagastume, 21, of Honduras, was charged with the murder of Camilia Williams, a 52-year-old mother of five and a grandmother, officials said.
"He was issued a notice to appear and paroled into the country by the previous administration," a DHS statement said, according to Fox News. "A judge ordered him removed on July 11, 2023. On March 18, 2025, he was arrested by the Cobb County Police Department for capital murder and other crimes."
DHS also said that Immigration and Customs Enforcement issued a immigration detainer with the Cobb County Jail.
The man received a deportation order in July 2023 as well, according to ICE. It is unclear why he was not removed since that time.
