VA proposes rule to end abortion coverage on medical plans
Republican members of the House Committee on Veterans Affairs said in a formal statement that they agree with the rule.
The Department of Veterans Affairs has proposed a rule that would prohibit abortion coverage for veterans.
The new proposed rule is scheduled for publication on Monday, August 4 in the National Archives' Federal Register.
Republican members of the House Committee on Veterans Affairs said in a formal statement on Friday that they agree with the rule.
According to the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs website, VA medical coverage currently allows abortions "when the life or health of the pregnant Veteran would be endangered if the pregnancy were carried to term, or when the pregnancy is the result of rape or incest."
