Police in Virginia said Wednesday that all suspects in a fatal shooting a day earlier are in custody.

Three people were killed and three others were injured in the shooting at about 5:30 p.m. outside the city of Fredericksburg, in northern Virginia, according to multiple news reports.

"In connection with the Olde Greenwich incident, all suspects are in custody and there is no threat to public safety," Spotsylvania County Sheriff Roger L. Harris wrote in a Facebook post Wednesday morning.

Still, Fredericksburg City Public Schools and Spotsylvania County Public Schools each issued a two-hour delay for openings Wednesday for "support", and high schools in the Spotsylvania system will have an increased law enforcement presence, school officials said.
