The United States launched a strike on Iran's Qeshm Island and the city of Bandar Abbas Thursday, which U.S. officials told Fox News was not a restart of the war nor an end to the ceasefire.

The strike comes after Iran fired 15 ballistic and cruise missiles at the United Arab Emirates' Fujairah Port on Tuesday, which angered countries in the Persian Gulf. However, War Secretary Pete Hegseth told reporters at the time that the attacks did not amount to a violation of the ceasefire.

It also comes after President Donald Trump halted Project Freedom on Tuesday, which was a military operation aimed at reopening the Strait of Hormuz and guiding ships through the strait.
