President Trump sits for first '60 Minutes' interview since CBS lawsuit

President Donald Trump on Friday sat for his first "60 Minutes" interview with the program in five years, and since he sued CBS News' parent company Paramount Global over the program's interview with former Vice President Kamala Harris.

Trump sued the network last year after CBS News allegedly deceptively edited a "60 Minutes" interview with Harris, who was also the Democratic Party nominee for president at the time. A $16 million settlement was reached in July.

Norah O'Donnell conducted Trump's wide-ranging interview, which was filmed at Mar-a-Lago and will air on Sunday. 

The interview touched on Chinese President Xi Jinping, Venezuela, Israel, the government shutdown, immigration and the National Guard, the outlet reported. 

It also marks a victory for new CBS News Editor-in-Chief Bari Weiss, who joined the outlet earlier this month. Weiss is expected to bring a more conservative perspective to the network. She previously worked as an opinion writer for the New York Times and founded the Free Press.

The program will air at 7:30 p.m. Eastern.
