Trump offers endorsement to GOP Rep. Byron Donalds if he runs for Florida governor

Trump won Florida in his 2016, 2020 and 2024 presidential general election races.

President Donald Trump on Thursday night told MAGA-certified Rep. Byron Donalds that he would endore the GOP lawmaker should he run for governor in 2026.

"I know Byron well, have seen him tested at the highest and most difficult levels, and he is a TOTAL WINNER" Trump wrote on Truth Social. "As Governor, Byron would have a BIG Voice, and would work closely with me to advance our America First Agenda." 

The shared in the post a recent Victory Polling survey that showed Donalds leader other potential candidates. 

Trump won Florida in his 2016, 2020 and 2024 presidential general election races.

"Byron Donalds would be a truly Great and Powerful Governor for Florida and, should he decide to run, will have my Complete and Total Endorsement," he also wrote in the post. "RUN, BYRON, RUN!"

Donalds responded to the endorsement in a post on X by teasing an "announcement coming soon."

"President Trump is Making America Great Again," he also wrote. "I'm committed to working with him to Keep Florida Great."
