Trump expresses frustration with his three Supreme Court nominees: 'They vote against me often'
"What can I do? I put them in," he also said.
President Donald Trump this week said that he regretted his nominations of three judges to the Supreme Court, saying they consistently voted against him.
"I gave them the position of a lifetime, and they vote against me often. They vote for me too," he said of Associate Justices Neil Gorsuch, Brett Kavanaugh, and Amy Coney Barrett in an interview with Time Magazine.
"What can I do? I put them in," he also said.
Trump has repeatedly criticized the Supreme Court when cases have not gone his way, with his fiercest condemnation reserved for the decision to uphold birthright citizenship under the 14th Amendment.
Trump secured three Supreme Court justice confirmations in his first term. Those three have gone on to hand conservatives wins in landmark cases involving abortion, affirmative action, gun rights, and administrative authority, though they have viewed some of his efforts skeptically.
