New York Jets are 'moving on' from quarterback Aaron Rodgers
Rodgers, consider a future NFL Hall of Fame quarterback, previously played for the Green Bay Packers.
The New York Jets announced Thursday that the NFL team will be 'moving on' from quarterback Aaron Rodgers.
"Last week we met with Aaron and shared that our intention was to move in a different direction at quarterback," head coach Aaron Glenn said in a joint statement with team General Manager Darren Mougey.
During the Jets most recent season, Rodgers threw for 3,987 yards, 28 touchdowns and 11 interceptions in 17 games.
The Jets record in 2024 was five wins and 12 losses. Rodgers came to the Jets, but got injured early in the season when his Achilles tendon was torn.
"I personally want to thank Aaron for his time at the New York Jets," Jets owner Woody Johnson said in a statement. "His arrival in 2023 was met with unbridled excitement and I will forever be grateful that he chose to join us to continue his Hall of Fame career."
Rodgers used to play for the Green Bay Packers before coming to the Jets.
