Items linked to Brian Laundrie found in Florida park, along with potential human remains
Laundrie went missing more than a month ago, following the disappearance of his fiancé, Gabby Petito.
Investigators have found potential human remains, as well as "items of interest" linked to Brian Laundrie, whose fiance Gabby Petito was found murdered in Wyoming following the couple's cross country trip. The items were found on Wednesday in a Florida wilderness park.
According to the Associated Press, FBI officers are expected to hold a press conference to discuss the search for Laundrie.
Laundrie went missing more than a month ago, following Petito's disappearance.
Laundrie's parents, Brian and Roberta Laundrie, assisted in the Wednesday search, according to reports.
"After a brief search off a trail that Brian frequented some articles belonging to Brian were found," attorney Steve Bertolino said in a statement. "As of now law enforcement is conducting a more thorough investigation of that area."
The FAA issued a temporary flight restriction over the Florida park where the items were found, according to reports. The restriction will prevent news helicopters as well as drones from entering the area, potentially compromising ongoing search efforts.
The FBI is expected to discuss the Wednesday discoveries.
This is a developing story.
