Trump announces FEMA Review Council with members Hegseth, Glenn Youngkin, Michael Whatley

President Donald Trump on Monday announced the creation of a review council for the Federal Emergency Management Agency that will include Defense Secretary Pete Hegseth, Virginia Gov. Glenn Youngkin and Republican National Convention Chairman Michael Whatley.

"I am proud to announce the formation of the FEMA Review Council, comprised of Top Experts in their fields, who are Highly Respected by their peers," Trump wrote on TRUTH Social.

Trump said the council would fix the "broken system" that is FEMA and return its power to the states.

"I know that the new Members will work hard to fix a terribly broken System, and return power to State Emergency Managers, who will help, MAKE AMERICA SAFE AGAIN. Congratulations to all!" Trump's post concluded. 

Other members on the council include former Mississippi Gov. Phil Bryant, Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem and former Tampa Mayor Jane Castor.
