Trump says Putin talk amid pending ceasefire deal will include discussions on land, power plants
Over the weekend, Trump said that he would be speaking to Putin on Tuesday to also discuss a ceasefire deal between Russian and Ukraine.
President Donald Trump said his planned conversation Tuesday amid a pending ceasefire deal in the Russian-Ukraine war will include power plants and land within the neighboring countries
“We will be talking about land. We will be talking about power plants,” Trump said, according to The Associated Press.
Trump was likely referring to the Russian-occupied Zaporizhzhia Nuclear Power Plant. It doesn't currently generate electricity, and Ukraine has urged Russia to remove troops from the plant due to it being used to disconnect the Ukrainian power grid, according The Kyiv Independent news outlet.
Ukraine has lost land due to the war with Russia, and Trump said there would be discussions about negotiations.
"We have been discussing with Ukraine land and pieces of land that would be kept and lost and all of the other elements of a final agreement," he said.
