New Hampshire voters pick nominees in crowded races following incumbents' departures

Voters in New Hampshire are selecting nominees for Congress, governor and the state's 424-seat state Legislature in Tuesday's primary. 

Following U.S. Sen. Jeanne Shaheen's decision to not seek reflection, U.S. Rep. Chris Pappas chose to join the race for Senate. Eight Republicans are hoping to replace Shaheen, a three-term Democrat, which includes John E. Sununu and Scott Brown, both of whom she previously defeated, the Associated Press reported. 

Pappas' departure from the 1st Congressional District seat also attracted a crowd of candidates, including Shaheen's daughter, Stefany Shaheen and former candidate Maura Sullivan. 

Several other candidates in top races have previously run.
