Senate rejects Democrats' bill to overturn Trump's 'Unleashing American Energy' executive order
The resolution, sponsored by Senators Tim Kaine, D-Va., and Martin Heinrich, D-N.M., failed in a party-line vote 53-47.
A Senate bill to block President Donald Trump’s executive order declaring an “energy emergency” failed to pass.
The resolution, sponsored by Senators Tim Kaine, D-Va., and Martin Heinrich, D-N.M., failed in a party-line vote 53-47, Fox News reports.
”This was nothing more than a cheap political stunt that prioritized ideology over affordability and it deserved the swift death it received,” Daniel Turner, executive director for Power The Future, said in a statement.
In a statement announcing the introduction of the resolution, Heinrich accused Trump of “unlawful attacks on clean energy investments.”
