White House parodies Time Magazine as 'King' Trump hails end of congestion pricing
"CONGESTION PRICING IS DEAD. Manhattan, and all of New York, is SAVED. LONG LIVE THE KING!" Trump posted on Truth Social.
The White House trolled President Donald Trump's detractors on Wednesday, posting a parody of a Time cover hailing him as a king and wearing a crown.
"CONGESTION PRICING IS DEAD. Manhattan, and all of New York, is SAVED. LONG LIVE THE KING!" Trump posted on Truth Social.
The White House subsequently shared the quote on its X account, along with the parody image, that featured the New York City skyline in the background. The move follows Trump's disclosure to the New York Post that he was working to stop a pricing plan for vehicle traffic in the Big Apple and had spoken with Gov. Kathy Hochul, D-N.Y.
The depiction of Trump as a monarch appears to be a swipe at his detractors, who have likened him to a dictator and king over his use of executive authority to achieve his policy goals.
