Hamas transfers bodies of four deceased Israeli hostages to Red Cross
The transfer comes after Trump warned Hamas that if it did not disarm itself as promised, then the United States would disarm the organization itself.
The Israeli Defense Force (IDF) on Tuesday confirmed that Hamas has transferred the bodies of four deceased Israeli hostages to the Red Cross as it continues searching for the remaining missing bodies.
Hamas released all living Israeli hostages on Monday as part of President Donald Trump's 20-point peace plan, but the remains of 24 deceased hostages have not been returned so far.
The IDF reminded Hamas that it was required to return all the remaining bodies in a post on X. Hamas returned four other bodies on Monday, who have been identified as Daniel Peretz, Yossi Sharab, Bilpin Joshi and Guy Illouz, per BBC News.
"According to information provided by the Red Cross, four coffins of deceased hostages have been transferred into their custody and are on their way to IDF and ISA forces in the Gaza Strip," the IDF posted on X. "Hamas is required to uphold the agreement and take the necessary steps to return all the hostages."
The transfer comes after Trump warned Hamas that if it did not disarm itself as promised, then the United States would disarm the organization itself.
"They're going to disarm, because they said they would disarm. And if they don't disarm, we will disarm them," Trump told reporters. “I don’t have to explain that to you, but if they don’t disarm, we will disarm them. They know I’m not playing games.”
