Israel, Lebanon agree to initial peace framework

Israel reportedly committed to withdrawing from two locations in southern Lebanon as part of the agreement.

Israel and Lebanon on Friday announced a framework deal to begin a peace process in the region.

Secretary of State Marco Rubio announced the agreement, alongside the Lebanese and Israeli ambassadors, the Associated Press reported. The officials did not provide details on the terms.

The Telegraph reported that Hezbollah, which has waged fierce fighting with Israel in southern Lebanon, was not a party to the negotiations.
