Trial date set for former Olympian alleged to have damaged Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool

Former U.S. Olympian David Hearn is one of seven people who face charges in what Trump has said were efforts to sabotage the renovation project, one of several projects the president has initiated as part of a plan to beautify the nation's capital.

A judge has set a trial date for David Hearn, a former U.S. Olympian who is accused of vandalizing the Lincoln Memorial Reflecting Pool.

D.C. Superior Court Judge Todd E. Eldelmann set the trial to begin on Sept. 28, the New York Times reported.

Hearn is one of seven people who face charges in what Trump has said were efforts to sabotage the renovation project, one of several projects the president has initiated as part of a plan to beautify the nation's capital.

Hearn has pleaded not guilty to a charge of destruction of property, the only felony charge among the seven suspects. During a hearing on Monday, Hearn only confirmed his name and said he understood he's required to appear at trial.
