Trump touts success of Asia trip ahead of Xi meeting
China, Japan, and South Korea are three of the U.S.'s most critical trading partners and Trump has sought to renegotiate Washington's trade relationships with all three.
President Donald Trump on Wednesday touted the success of his diplomatic trip to Asia ahead of his planned meeting with Chinese President Xi Jinping on Thursday.
"Bringing back Trillions of Dollars to USA! A great trip. Dealing with very smart, talented, and wonderful Leaders. Tomorrow, President Xi of China. It will be a great meeting for both!!! President DJT" he posted on Truth Social.
Trump visited Japan this week, meeting with Prime Minister Sanae Takaichi and the Emperor Naruhito. He is currently in South Korea to finalize a trade agreement with Seoul.

With Japan and South Korea's deals effectively complete, China remains the major holdout in the Pacific Rim. The president is expected to attempt to conclude negotiations with Beijing during his Thursday visit.
