Conservative Ecuadorian President Daniel Noboa late Sunday won reelection in the country's presidential election.

Noboa, a millionaire who ran on a platform of being tough on crime, got 55.8% of the vote with 92% of the ballots counted.

His opponent, Luisa Gonzalez, got 44% of the vote, according to The Associated Press. Gonzalez has vowed to challenge the results, alleging there had been “grotesque” electoral fraud.

“Ecuador is changing ... and that path will mean our children will live better lives than we did,” Noboa said in a victory speech, in which he also criticized Gonzalez's allegations of election fraud.

“I find it embarrassing that with an 11- or 12-point difference, they come out to question the will of the Ecuadorians,” he said. “Ecuadorians have already spoken, now we have to get to work.”

Noboa was first elected as president in 2023 at age 35. He is the second-youngest president in Ecuador's history.
