Venezuela to resume flights to repatriate illegal aliens: Grenell
Venezuela ranked among the most common origin points for illegal immigrants during the Biden administration.
The Venezuelan government will resume flights to retrieve illegal immigrants from the United States, Special President Envoy Richard Grenell confirmed on Thursday.
"I am pleased to announce that Venezuela has agreed to resume flights to pick up their citizens who broke U.S. Immigration Laws and entered the U.S. illegally.
The flights will resume Friday," he posted.
Venezuela ranked among the most common origin points for illegal immigrants during the Biden administration. President Donald Trump, while on campaign, routinely criticized Venezuela and other nations for allegedly emptying their prisons into the U.S.
The Trump administration last month resumed a program of deportation flights to Venezuela that had been on pause. The Maduro government announced this week that it would stop taking repatriation flights over President Donald Trump's revocation of Chevron's license to operate in Venezuela.
